Impact

Impact

The intension is to identify ideas and projects that can have high impact underpinned and informed by gathering the latest evidence on high-impact climate action and practical examples with a the intension of helping and inspiring places and communities to develop their selected projects. Novel tools in identifying good ideas and projects will be adopted. The identified levels will help in achieving the intended high impact:

  • Local level – Public becoming more aware on climate change, its affects on their health, and how an individual can help to tackle it.; 
  • Council level – will have access to more accurate measurements of particulate matters for instance and will be able to make informed decisions and, 
  • National Level – Government learning from local councils’ initiatives to tackle climate change and improve air quality will inform actions at national level. Targets will be set for Carbon and GHGs, NOx and PMs based on World Health Organisation limits.

Key planned dissemination activities

Improving the CE AQPC, setting up User Interest Groups; Organising 2 conferences and 3 workshops; disseminating through Social media networks for wider knowledge transfer; Publications at Journals/Conferences/Exhibitions.

Sustainability

The partners will investigate new income avenues e.g. sharing data related to measurements of success with interested organisations; and by seeking funds from other funding bodies for selected and deserving on-going and/or new projects. Novel use of social media and preparation of articles and academic papers will help the intended sustainability. A dissemination plan and a sustainability plan have been developed. There is also a plan for sustaining the project after the period of funding ends.

Involvement of major universities and innovation centers as well as well-respected institutions and companies will ensure a lasting sustainability. There are plans to run several courses accredited by partner universities and professional engineering and science institutions which would help the project long term success and impact.
